Order Cancellation Policy

Specialty Coatings Inc. (“SCI”) processes orders for industrial, aerospace, military, automotive, and other specialty coating products. Because some products are specially sourced, made to order, custom mixed, or subject to specific supplier requirements, cancellation requests are subject to the conditions below.
Cancellation Window
Cancellation requests must be submitted to info@specialtycoatingsinc.com within 24 hours of order confirmation and before the order has left our warehouse.
Cancellation requests are not guaranteed.
SCI will review each request based on the status of the order and whether the product has already been processed, sourced, mixed, packaged, or shipped.
Cancellation Fee
Approved cancellations are subject to a 5% cancellation/restocking fee.
The fee may be deducted from the amount refunded to the original payment method.
Orders Already in Process
An order may not be cancellable if it has already:
- Shipped
- Left our warehouse
- Entered fulfillment
- Been specially sourced from a manufacturer or supplier
- Been custom mixed or tinted
- Been made to order
- Been otherwise committed specifically for the customer
Once an order reaches one of these stages, SCI may be unable to cancel the order.
Made-to-Order and Custom Products
Made-to-order, custom-mixed, custom-tinted, and specially produced products cannot be cancelled once production or processing has begun.
Certain product pages require customers to affirmatively acknowledge these terms before completing their purchase.
For example, SCI's current MTO product listings state that once a custom-tinted order is placed, it cannot be cancelled or returned.
How to Request a Cancellation
To request cancellation, email:
Please include:
- Your order number
- Customer name
- Email address used for the order
- Product(s) ordered
- Reason for cancellation
SCI will confirm whether the order can be cancelled.
Submitting a cancellation request does not mean the order has been cancelled. Customers should wait for written confirmation from SCI before considering an order cancelled.
Orders That Have Shipped
Orders that have already shipped cannot be cancelled.
If you no longer require an item after it has shipped, the order may be subject to the terms of our Return & Refund Policy, provided the product is eligible for return.
Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Any applicable cancellation, restocking, or return charges will be calculated based on the circumstances of the order.
